Bulletin Board Instructions
Task: Working as a group, plan and create a bulletin board display.
Each month a different group of students will be responsible for putting up a bulletin board display related to law, social justice, literature, or a historical or current event. All groups will create their bulletin board materials at the beginning of the semester and put up their displays on the dates indicated.
Process:
1. Considering the topic and required elements, brainstorm and research possible components of the bulletin board.
2. Sketch the design of your bulletin board (including color is helpful) and have it approved by an instructor. Use the rubric as a guide.
3. Gather supplies and create components of your bulletin board design. Many supplies are available in the classroom. Check with an instructor before purchasing supplies.
4. Once all components are completed, they will be stored in the classroom until the “put up” date.
5. Put up your bulletin board prior to the beginning of the class period on the day it is due. Failure to complete the project prior to the beginning of the class will cost the group points. If the assembly is not complete by the beginning of the class, the assignment will be considered late.
6. Take a photograph of your bulletin board before taking it down. See an instructor for access to a digital camera. The photos of all of the bulletin boards will be complied for posting.
7. Take down your bulletin board on the date indicated. Failure to do so will cost the group points. When taking down bulletin boards, all staples should be removed and thrown away. Check the floor and pick up all staples. Properly dispose of all materials which are not reusable.
8. Recycle or dispose of all materials. Leftover materials may be kept or donated to the class. If you wish to donate your reusable materials, organize them in a form in which they can be stored and put them away neatly. Properly dispose of all materials which are not reusable.
