- Choose a favorite banned/challenged book by referring to the ALA Banned Books Week Weebly page.
- Research the book's history of being banned and/or challenged.
- Create a Virtual Read-out project of no more than three minutes. Record your Virtual Read-out. It may be audio only or audio/video.
- In your Virtual Read-out:
- Introduce your book and its author ["I will be reading from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain]
- Read a particularly important or representative passage from the book.
- Explain where and why the book was banned or challenged. This information must be based on research. Create an MLA style bibliography and submit to Google Classroom.
- End your Virtual Read-out by adding your thoughts on the importance of keeping that particular book in schools or on library or bookstore shelves.
- The video file is due in class on Friday, 9/14. The project is worth 50 points.
